When the predator came to the first house, he just huffed and blew and it blew the house into pieces. The first chick ran to his sister's house.

But when the predator came to the third house, he huffed and exerted himself but it wouldn't break. The chicks were safe inside.
Finally, the wolf was too tired to try any longer. He went away defeated.
